A graduate of Tokyo's National University of Fine Arts and Music, Hitomi Furukawa came to London in 2002 to study with Professor William Bennett OBE at the Royal Academy of Music, where she graduated with Distinction. She has given several world and Japanese premiere performances and solo recitals, and has performed concertos as a soloist in England, Japan and tne USA. She participated in the complete Brandenburg Concertos with the London Octave in the St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church in 2004, and has also played as a principal flute in many orchestras in Japan.
